The wait is over — Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, Japan has officially opened its doors on April 13th!

Sure, the weather didn’t exactly cooperate.  Instead, Opening Day arrived with rain clouds and an unseasonable chill for this time of year. But honestly? Not even the cold or drizzle could put a damper on the excitement. Armed with umbrellas and plenty of curiosity, I  joined thousands of others to be part of the magic on Day One.

This is the very first Expo I’ve ever attended, and I couldn’t resist the chance to experience its opening moments. From the second I stepped onto the grounds, I felt like I’d entered a whole new world — one filled with imagination, global ideas, and stunning architecture at every turn. And the best part? This was just the beginning of what will be many return visits (thanks to my Season Pass!).

Even under gray skies, the country and company pavilions gleamed with their striking designs standing out against the rainy backdrop. I loved wandering around, trying to take it all in — the sounds, the sights, the crowd’s contagious energy. There’s something special about being part of the first-day buzz, surrounded by people from all over the world, all here to witness the start of something big.

And trust me: the pavilions are more than just pretty facades. Each one promises a peek into the future — from cultural stories and traditions to cutting-edge tech, world-changing ideas, and bold visions for how we can shape a better planet, together. I’ve only scratched the surface, but I’m already counting the days until my next visit.

As someone who loves to travel, this feels like the ultimate global adventure — all in one place. Whether you’ve been to a country before or it’s still on your bucket list, the Expo offers the chance to learn, explore, and see the world from new perspectives.

I’m especially excited to explore the Japanese company and regional pavilions, where groundbreaking innovations and forward-thinking ideas from Japan’s brilliant creative minds will be on display for more of the world to see — along with the rich and unique cultural treasures that make Japan, and the Kansai region in particular, such a captivating and unforgettable travel destination.

Expo 2025 is all about connection — and here’s what it invites us to do:

  1. Learn from one another and imagine new ways to thrive side by side

  2. Witness innovations and ideas that can shape a brighter future

  3. Celebrate the power of creativity, culture, and human possibility.

So here’s to many more days of discovery! I’ll be sharing highlights and favorite moments from each visit right here on the blog. And if you’re planning to visit the Expo too — who knows, maybe I’ll see you there!

More to come...
