Course Overview

The Osaka Expo Adventure ESL Course is an 18-week live online learning experience — 16 content weeks plus kick-off and graduation— led directly by Yvonne Burton, author of Osaka Expo Adventures A-Z, Volume 1 A-M.

Designed primarily for Japanese English learners at the high-beginner to intermediate level, the course combines English conversation, cross-cultural learning, and practical technology skills in a friendly, supportive small-group environment.

What You Will Experience

  • Explore 16 countries featured in Volume 1, from America to Monaco.

  • Build confidence through dialogues, workbook exercises, role-plays, pair work, and group discussions.

  • Hear behind-the-scenes stories and insights from Yvonne’s nearly 40 visits to Expo 2025.

  • Use of Zoom breakout rooms, polls, interactive whiteboards, screen sharing, and collaborative annotation.

  • Record your weekly discoveries in your own “Learning Passport.”

  • Give a short final presentation about your favorite discoveries and future English goals.
